Living in West Texas gives lots of fun weather! Most of February was filled with sun and rather warm temps, and then the last week gave us SNOW!!!!
Being stuck inside can make you go crazy, so instead - I went outside to do some YOGA!!!
Here are some of the fun pics :)
The first pic I took is my go-to yoga pic, Warrior 2. I felt like a Warrior venturing out into the snow, coming out of my warm house :) Warrior 2 is great to open the hips, lengthen the spine, and engage the thighs.
My next pic was Chair Pose! This pose is a great way to warm the thighs and lengthen the spine.
Next is the yoga squat. A fun inner thigh stretch and hip opener without actually touching the snow :)
And, of course I had to throw some balance poses in the mix! The first is Dancer Pose - a great heart opener, and I didn't have to touch the snow on my boot :)
And, another fun balance, Warrior 3! I love the grounding and lengthening feeling acheived in this pose.
And, finally, a collage of all 5 poses! It's always fun to mix it all together and see the action all at once :)
I was so glad that I chose to yoga in the snow instead of grump that I couldn't go out to yoga. Of course, I did yoga inside to get some more great stretches in without worrying about freezing my hands in the snow!
Here are a couple of pics from facebook friends that ventured out into the snow to snap some "snowga" pics -
The first pic collage is from my friend, Holly! She's always brave to participate in my yoga challenges - even when I call out an impromptu #snowga one!
The next is my friend, Amanda - She is a fellow yogi that loves to yoga anywhere, and now we have proof of yoga in the snow! She was even brave enough to get her hands frozen doing crow!
So, the next time you feel life has given you lemons - or snow - embrace it! We all have a choice of how we respond to our surroundings. Choosing positive actions always lifts our mood and drives us to be better!
It's not too late to get your #snowga on! Anywhere and Anytime you encounter snow - strike a pose!
