Zoos are fun! There are amazing animals being cared for, protected and available for the public to enjoy without traveling around the world. My favorite animal is the Giraffe! This beautiful animal reminds me to be tall and lengthen my body.


Although visiting a zoo is fun, feeling like we live in a zoo promotes a sense of chaos. The season of Fall seems to be a time of transition and 'busy-ness' for a lot of people. Constant chaos depletes the body of energy and builds stress - all creating the perfect environment for illness. Yoga postures and breathing can counteract these factors allowing the body to find peace while strengthening our immunity.

There are multiple studies proving the benefits of yoga's ability to relax us through chaos. One avenue to seek some immediate calm is through Alternate Nostril Breathing. This breathing method not only creates calmness throughout the body, but also brings focus to the mind - along with multiple other benefits. This video gives a quick introduction into this style of breathing -


I have always felt blessed knowing within just a few minutes, I could be in the presence of Bears, Lions, Giraffes, Rhinos, Flamingos, Zebras, Monkeys and much, much more! The Abilene Zoo is a fun environment which has informative and beautiful adventures -


I had a lot of fun posing in a couple of Animal Named poses at some of the fun sites around the zoo -

Our FuN OcToBeR YoGa PoSe ChAlLeNgE allows us to find our Zen At The Zoo! These poses stimulate focus and calm in the body. The staff at the zoo were extremely kind to allow me to take pictures in the Giraffe Safari! Just taking the pictures around my favorite animal was very calming! Not every picture shows a giraffe, but some are super cute of a Giraffe eyeing me! The lighting does make some of the poses more difficult to discern.
